The deal between us.
These terms govern your use of ShowGrandma — the website you’re reading and the iOS, Android, and web apps we ship under the same brand. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. We’ll keep this short and in plain language. If something is unclear, email hello@showgrandma.com and we’ll explain.
What ShowGrandma is
A private family memory journal. You create chronological photo timelines for your children, invite the family members you trust, and they see updates as you post them. We host the photos and run the software. We don’t own your photos and we never claim to.
Your account
- You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.
- You agree the email address you use is yours, and you’re old enough to enter into a contract where you live (typically 18+).
- One person per account. Households can have multiple accounts (e.g. two parents) — those are linked, not shared.
Your content stays yours
You retain all rights to the photos, videos, and text you upload. By using ShowGrandma you grant us a limited, revocable licence to store and display that content to the people you invite — that’s the service. The licence is solely to operate ShowGrandma for you; we don’t use your content for anything else, ever (and the privacy policy spells out what “anything else” means).
Acceptable use
You agree not to use ShowGrandma to:
- Upload content you don’t have the right to share.
- Upload content depicting other people’s children without their parents’ consent.
- Harass, abuse, or impersonate others.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the service to build a competing product.
- Attempt to circumvent the access controls — viewers should only see what you’ve invited them to.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially where the safety of a child is implicated. If we do, we still honour your data export rights as set out in the privacy policy.
Pricing and billing
ShowGrandma will offer a free tier and paid tiers; full pricing published on the pricing page when finalised. We bill via the App Store, Play Store, or a payment processor — we never see your card details. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. Refunds are handled per the platform’s policy (App Store, Play Store) where you bought the subscription.
Service changes
We may update the service over time — adding features, fixing bugs, occasionally retiring features that aren’t serving anyone. If we ever materially reduce what a paid tier offers, we’ll notify affected accounts and offer a refund or downgrade path.
Cancellation, deletion, and export
You can cancel any paid subscription at the platform that bills you. You can delete your account from inside the app. Deletion triggers a 30-day cooling-off window (in case you change your mind), then a permanent purge of your photos, videos, captions, and household state. You can request a full export at any time before final purge.
Disclaimer and liability
We work hard on durability, but no service is perfect. ShowGrandma is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShowGrandma is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the previous 12 months (or a small token sum for free-tier users). None of this disclaimer is intended to limit liability where law forbids it (e.g. for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or in jurisdictions where consumer-protection law requires otherwise).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ShowGrandma is established. We’ll list the specific jurisdiction here once the company is incorporated.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above and email every account holder for any change that materially affects your rights. You can always end your account if a change isn’t acceptable to you.
